48 hours in Paris…

Before my recent trip to Paris, I religiously followed the words of Henry Ford “any colour, as long as it’s black”. However, 48 hours in the most romantic city in the world (apparently!) discovering the latest interiors trends at Paris Deco Off and Maison & Objet and all I can think about is deep, intensifying tones of mustard rust and emerald.

You would think these throwback 70s shades were not the most glamorous of colours, but oh my….! Brands such as Republic of Fritz Hansen, Munna Design and eno studio delivered these shades like 4 karat diamonds.

Strikes of gold, bleached-out pinks, deep plums, patterned papers and too many velvets to mention were thoughtfully placed against the painted backdrops to create instant, coveted status.

With the strong dramatic colour combinations, over-the-top-prints and indulgent, luxury textiles, we’re going in to an era that’s more Zsa Zsa Gabor than Henry Ford, but even Henry had to admit defeat.
